Congratulations to Ed and DarkSyde
2005.12.15 (Thu) 12:47

It appears to be a big week for two of our favorite blogs.

Over on Unscrewing the Inscrutable, co-blogger DarkSyde has been named as one of the front pager guest bloggers for 2006 at the Daily Kos. We've enjoyed his writing for a while now, and we're glad to hear that he'll be getting more exposure. DarkSyde and Brent have long entertained and educated us in their little corner of the world. They cover politics, religion, science, economics, and philosophy, and they do it all with common sense and a great sense of humor. Quite honestly, this is just the kind of voice we need in a big forum like the Daily Kos.

In addition, Ed Brayton has just announced that he inked a deal to join a consortium of science bloggers being launched in the near future. from Ed:

Their plan is for all of us to move our blogs to their servers where they will handle all of the technical aspects of blogging and we would continue to do what we do. Each blog will remain independent of all the others, but they will be linked together in hopes of increasing everyone's readership. There will also be shared advertising, which will allow us each to be paid for our efforts.

Like UTI, Dispatches from the Culture Wars is one of our favorite blogs. The thing that amazes us about Ed is how he manages to write the sheer quantity of posts that he does, while never sacrificing quality. Every post from Ed, whether it's about law, religion, politics, or breaking news, is thought-provoking and well-written, and we visit often for a good dose of humor, analysis, and common sense. Ed has ensured that creative control remains in his hands going forward, so it sounds like nothing but good news to us.

So, congratulations to both Ed and DS!
