Blogging in a Dangerous Time
2005.11.22 (Tue) 13:45
Who would have thought that the "Blog Revolution" would, of necessity, be so literal?
For all you bloggers out there, we encourage you to check out the EFF's push to protect bloggers' rights and provide bloggers with the information they need to prevent the government from stifling them.
In a nation where the most powerful political bodies only support the rights of journalists who are on their payroll or giving them head, it's important to remember that there are no "credentials" required to be a journalist. Based on your track record, the public can decide on their own whether or not to trust you — and you should be protected by the same rights and privileges granted to "mainstream" journalists. A truly free press should be beholden to no governmental organization.
We at the Two Percent Company proudly support bloggers' rights, and encourage all lovers of liberty to do the same. The button below (which also appears on the sidebar of our Rants page) will take you to the blogger section of the EFF site; specifically, the page where you can join the EFF. Remember — the rights you protect may truly be your own.
