« Is This Thing On? The Rants We're Still Waiting for the Ass Gnomes »

Say It Ain't So, Wolfie!
2007.05.20 (Sun) 08:40

In honor of Paul Wolfowitz being forced out as president of the World Bank because, well, nobody wanted him there in the first place, we thought we'd repost the cartoon we published just after Bush nominated him to the post in 2005.

Hey, wait a minute. Wolfowitz is out on his ass, bipartisan support for the resignation or removal of Alberto Gonzales is growing, "Heckuvajob" Brownie (not pictured) is long gone, and Bolton resigned when his asinine recess appointment expired because he knew he'd never actually get past one of those, you know, real Senate votes. Good ol' Dubya sure can pick 'em!

Are you sure these guys know how to play the game?

Mark Steel had an excellent column about this the other day. Basically, he wonders what the actual plan for world domination the PNAC put forward...was their someone with a powerpoint presentation saying 'Right. Here's how it's going to go. First, we label the countries around Iraq 'evil'. Then, after a few years, we beg them for help. Rummy, you're going to be fired. Wolfie, you're going to be fired. Bolton, you're going to look more and more mentally unstable. George, you're going to wander around bumping into things and generally looking clueless. Pretty soon, our popularity will be somewhere around that of syphillis. Everyone got it? Now let's go!'
