Skeptics' Circle #26
2006.01.19 (Thu) 10:41

The twenty sixth edition of the Skeptics' Circle is available for your perusal over at Skeptic Rant. We have to say, the presentation is fantastic. The only thing that seems to be missing is a nifty easter egg to find (we didn't find one, anyway). Of course, if you're short on time and/or patience, there's also a plain text version. Either way, check it out.

Beautiful... but I have to be a dick and point out the glaring grammatical errors--it's "its" not "it's"! Oh, when will we ever learn? I don't know how you can spend so much time designing a site and overlook such a thing. For shame!

Eh, after a few years of roaming the blogosphere (and many, many more roaming the Internet in general), we've learned to let some of that stuff slide, Will — even though one of us is just as much of a stickler for grammar and spelling as you are.

We've come to expect a looser style of writing on the Internet at this point (though it does worry us that this seems to be leaking over into more mainstream, "proper" media channels). Of course, it can still bother us. Seeing "it's" isn't so bad (it's admittedly one of those weird grammar rules which isn't completely obvious on its face), but things like "could of" and "definately," along with abbreviations like "ur teh suk," really drive us crazy.
